The Rich Learn

So some of the rich people in the states (and the world for that matter) are learning how it feels to have money stolen from them for reasons other than what they were told it would be used for. Bernard Madoff stole their money, telling them it would return to them with huge gains. The middle class hear that every April... tax season, "we are taking this money to fund schools and roads and all the things you depend on" except it doesn't , it goes to wars and bulding weapons which we will sell at a loss to isreal. Sadly all this Madoff stuff with just make it harder for the rich to be stolen from...and our goverment endorsed fleasing will continue

Where the internet ends.

The internet is in a few ways a living breathing creature. Its veins are the routers, switches, and cable that carry the data from its heart, the servers and storage web content live on, to our computers which make up the eye's ears and mouth of the web. But that's where the similarity seems to come to a stop. We have a single brain that controls our body, but those same brains that control us individually come together as a unified conglomerate to form the brain of the internet. It is the mixed view points and the differing angles, backgrounds, religions, non religions, ideals and thoughts that make the internet a great and ultimately powerful tool.

Corporations, and quite possibly governments would like to control the web to the point of deciding which viewpoints you as the internet consumer should receive. They would like to prohibit you from viewing ideals that they do not agree with, or at least make accessing those ideas cost more. ISP's would like you to only see advertisements for company that pay them add money. Broadcasting companies want to lock down your ability to buy or stream shows from other broadcasting company’s. Sports affiliate what you to only see their version of a sport. Religions want to make access to opposing views and idea's unavailable. Governments want to control the news that you have access too and how its spun.

We have been hearing more and more about net neutrality as of the past few months, and the fight for it gained good ground recently, but in our current economy, with corporations looking at new ways of making income I feel we have not heard the last of this. Much of the internet has commerce happening within it, but what we must be on guard for is monetizing our actual access to the internet. Boycott any kind of "special content" your ISP may try to push on you. Start Reading your ISP contracts and the Eula’s on any software they may have you install to make sure that they will not be replacing legitimate ads for opposing companies and replacing them with hand picked ads for themselves or their advertising partners.

Our bodies have one other similarity to the internet.... They are both free to think as an individual, and that is a right no constitution gives us, that is a freedom we get just by being.
